This is a test, like the first one post and everything, so don't get too excited... All right, you can get a little bit excited (this is not a test and you clicked on my CTA).
First of all (this could be the name of this post) I wanna know why people tend to click on random things, maybe there is a little head Chuck Norris ordering? Or maybe they expect to discover a super new thing?
Guess what?
CTA (Call to action) is a button, a phrase or a title that works like pulling a trigger in your brain. This call stimulates an instant reaction and is usually to make you click or interact, mostly to make you spend money with something.
And there are some elements to a good CTA, the main are:
β’ Size, Shape and Colour
β’ Positioning
β’ Copy and microcopy
How about diving into these topics?
Size, Shape and Color
If you are navigating into a site that converts something, probably you will find a button that naturally fits in (talking of a reasonably good site), that's the importance of a good sized and shaped CTA button.
Oh, the color, that's very important too... The button above isn't that attractive, I know you noticed this.
Thats because of the importance of color. Color not only makes the design more beautiful, it also dictates the message you want to convey. See this example:
Now we're talking, right? π
Positioning
It's easy to give an instruction by placing it in the right place, am I right? This basic fundamental of logic is one of the keys to a good CTA.
This obviously depends on the position of your design, so try to put the button or title in a clean form, right in the bullseye in the pattern of your site.
READ THIS
The text above is placed in the order of your reading so get easy to see and read. Now, this time, I placed the button like this:
READ THIS
Than I wrote a simple text to you read and make you go back to the standard form witch I choose to use in my blog, and then:
READ THIS
More and more text too you, by the way, did you know that each year, Mount Everest is estimated to grow by 4 millimeters? Holy moly!?
READ THIS
So, isn't that natural. By positioning your CTA (wharever it is), try to create your way to making a pattern.
Copy and Microcopy
At least, but not less important, we have Copy. The copy dictates the message you want to convey.
First of all you need to identify the CTA objective, so find the "level" of conversion that your target (persona, we will talk more about this in another post) are in your site.
Talking about CTA, we need short and direct impact.

The key is that it becomes more compelling when we offer an advantage.
